Been there, loves! More than anything, we want you to feel comfortable and confident in everything you wear from Matriarch. Fit notes will always be listed on product pages to make shopping easier, but always feel free to reach out via email or Instagram.
Extended sizing including petite and plus sizing is something we are working towards! Our current offering includes flexible S, M and L, but we are actively working towards providing a larger range of sizes. Have a sizing or fit question? We are more than happy to help. Drop us a line!
We highly suggest washing all Matriarch apparel the following way: gentle cycle in cold or cool water and line dry. Materials like linen will shrink in the dryer, even on a low setting.
Air drying your pieces is not only gentler on the clothing, allowing it to last longer, but it is also kinder to mama Earth. For wrinkles, we recommend ironing or steaming on a low setting. Special care directions will always be listed on product pages if there are any.
Please refer to our Returns page.
We hope it's love at first sight with anything you purchase from Matriarch, but if you need to make a return, please contact us at shopmatriarch@gmail.com and we will instruct you from there! Or, you can Request a Return through your account.
We source from labels that prioritize sustainability and ethical business practices. Many of our apparel pieces are made by Mod Ref, a minimalist fashion brand headquartered in Los Angeles.
Here is their statement on sustainability:
"We believe in strong morals that come from family, and that family extends to our partnerships. We know that the invisible stories of individuals woven in the "Made in" labels are important. We are committed to ethical business practices and value the relationships with those we work with.
Our partnerships with our factories range all over the world. 60% of our production is handled in China, Guangzhou, 30% in Vietnam & Bangladesh, and 10% of our production remaining in the US, right here in Los Angeles!
Consumers are becoming increasingly conscious about where products are produced and the conditions in which they are created. With that, we want to address the misconception that "Made In China" inevitably translates to poor work conditions and/or an inferior product. China is no longer considered the world's 'cheap factory', as the country as a whole has moved up the value chain — the people along with it. We want to shed light on a new generation of certified factories that provide fair pay, reasonable hours, and quality conditions."
